Madrid get a 9-pointer La Liga week underway against Granada

The Whites will be looking to win the first of the three championship games they are scheduled to play in the space of seven days.
With the international break now over, Real Madrid make their return to the Bernabéu 21 days on from their last home game. The Whites do so to get the business end of the championship underway, with just 10 matches remaining. Three of these fixtures will take place over the upcoming seven days, the first of which sees the team take on a Granada side involved in the relegation scrap.

With the objective of beating the Andalusian outfit and putting pressure on Barcelona, who play later in the evening, the European champions will kick start a series of six games to be played in Madrid. Four of these matches will be in the Bernabéu, one in Vallecas and another in the Vicente Calderón. The Whites' ground, where Real Madrid will be playing three La Liga encounters, will play a key role in the fight for the championship title.
TEN MATCHDAYS REMAIN UNTIL THE END OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Ancelotti has named a 19-man squad for this game, for which he will have to do without Isco, who is suspended. Among the players taking part will be Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema. The Portuguese star always scores against Granada in the Bernabéu, while the Frenchman has strung three straight games together hitting the back of the net against the Andalusians. The Italian coach said that James will be starting after overcoming an injury that has kept him sidelined for the past 60 days.

A lot of changes
This Granada team are very different to the side Real Madrid faced in the first half of the season. Abel Resino took over from Caparrós in the dugout and they brought in seven players over the winter transfer window: Lass, Cala, Colunga, Insúa, Rubén Pérez, Robert Ibáñez and Daniel Candeias.

Jhon Córdoba is, with six goals to his name, the top scorer in a team that, in the words of Ancelotti, “have improved a lot. They are more confident now and are more dangerous”. An important week in terms of staying in the title race gets underway for Real Madrid and they cannot afford to slip up.
